5 Celebrities who went to support Springboks in France

Last weekend’s rugby semifinals match between Springboks and England saw many people from different parts of South Africa watching the match with friends and loved ones, while some enjoying it with total strangers.

The vibe on all social media platforms after our win proved that if Paris was just a taxi away, we would have filled all the taxi’s available in Mzansi just for us to show our boys how much we believe in them.

Some of Mzansi’s celebrities headed to France to show love and support to the multi-winning World Cup champions.

Below are five celebrities who flew to France to watch the World Cup.

1. Cici

The mother of one, who recently released the smashing hit song Thula with deejay and businesswoman DJ Zinhle, shared a video of herself in France at the stadium.

Jamming to Master KG’s Jerusalema which played at the stadium in Paris, Cici shared a video wearing the Springboks jersey, dancing and enjoying herself. Prior to that, she posted photos of herself next to the famous Eiffel Tower.

She also shared a video of herself out and about enjoying Paris and some of the local festivities.

She captioned her post:

2. Thando Thabethe 

Thando Thabethe shared a video at the stadium celebrating the Springboks’ win. She captioned her post:

Ladies and gentlemen… the champions of the world‼️‼️‼️

What a time to be alive!!! ????????????????????????????????

3. Siv Ngesi

The bold and full of life media personality celebrated his 38th birthday a few days ago in Paris. He also made it a point to proudly and loudly enjoy the matches at the stadium, sharing videos and pictures on his social media platforms. He was also tagged by many who came across his videos on social media with some calling him a national mood.

4. Graem Smith

The former Proteas captain also made it to the stadium, sharing an image in celebration of the Boks’ win.

He captioned his post:

5. Mama Joy

Mama Joy is a celebrity in her own right. Having always been in the limelight and highlighted as a symbol of love and unity, Mama Joy does not only show love to one sporting code, as she is visible in most of them. She used to be a diehard fan of Orlando Pirates. Later moving to join Shauwn Mpisane’s Royal AM, she continues to represent and show her love and support to sporting codes such as soccer and rugby.

Rubbing shoulders with ministers and people from all walks of life, Mama Joy’s love for South African sporting codes has truly earned her the term ‘superfan.’
