Reality TV star and actress Innocent Sadiki has been forced to respond to claims that she burnt down her R3 million home to claim on her insurance policy.
Earlier this week, her Fourways home caught alight and was reduced to ashes as she and her husband Pastor Phindulo Sadiki looked on helplessly. After the incident, the Skeem Saam star took to social media to share the damage that had been done.
Not long after, her twin sister Millicent “Milly” Mashile used her platform to ask fans for help in the form of donations. She then explained how H&M were not able to help them with clothing, despite not having vouchers.
South Africans were quick to point out that the sisters were posting too much content on the burnt house and were looking for attention. Others accused Innocent and her husband of setting their home alight in an attempt to gain a hefty insurance payout.
Dr Musa Mthombeni stoked the flames even further after posting pictures of himself standing in front of the same house. He had to clarify the post and said it was from 2021.

Following the backlash and negative comments, Innocent told Zimoja that her focus right now is taking care of her family.
“What kind of mother would put her kids in such a traumatic experience just to trend or to gain fame? I would never do that to my kids. What kind of monster would I be?” she told the publication.
She has also asked family and friends to stop sending her screengrabs of the upsetting comments.
