Tebogo Ramokgadi has admitted that he has now found a new appreciation for life after narrowly escaping a near-death experience.

The 38-year-old reality star best known for being part of the show Diamonds and Dolls says that life he will never take life for granted again. This comes after he fell victim to an incident involving food poisoning while dining at a restaurant last week.

In conversation with the entertainment publication Daily Sun, he revealed that he later became sick and repeatedly vomited.

“I vomited for hours like I was going to die. The doctor said it was food poisoning,” he explained.

“I was lucky to make it and for that, I’ll never see my life the same,” said Tebogo.

As this case is with most parent-child relationships, most people envision the day of being able to show appreciation to their parents by taking care of them during their old age, and for Tebogo the sentiment is very much the same.

In his reflection on what transpired at the time, he said that his mother’s face flashed before him.

“My biggest fear is to die before my mum,” he told Daily Sun.

“I need to bury her, not the other way around.”

Meanwhile, he remains sceptical on whether it was the restaurant’s food that resulted in him being poisoned.

“My friends are adamant that someone poisoned me.”

He added that he refuses to dwell on the past and said that he will just have to be cautious in the future. He is however just grateful to be alive.
