Deputy President Paul Mashatile was delivering a keynote address at the N’wamitwa Day Celebrations held at the Valoyi Cultural Village in Greater Tzaneen, Mopani District, when a sudden health scare left attendees in shock.

In a viral TikTok video posted by user @yatifyx, the Deputy President is seen speaking to a large audience when he begins to lose his balance and soon after, he faints into the arms of his bodyguard, who quickly rushed to assist him. The unsettling moment left many in attendance shocked and concerned for his well-being.

According to The Citizen, Limpopo Premier Phophi Ramathuba later addressed the crowd to call for calm and provide an update on Paul’s condition.

The mentioned publication further stated that he was found to be dehydrated, worsening the symptoms he had reported, which included feeling weak and suffering from what he described as “food poisoning or something.”

Limpopo Premier Dr Phophi Ramathuba says Mashatile is fine after the collapse. Ramathuba says the public should not be alarmed by the situation. She suspects that heat exhaustion could have led to the collapse. She however did not reveal where Mashatile was taken for treatment after the collapse. #southafricans #southafrica #mashatile #nwamitwaday #day #capetown #vicepresident #collapse #limpopo ♬ original sound – Yatify
