While some were enjoying the summer holidays, kwaito veteran Victor Bogopane, popularly known as Doc Shebeleza continues to fight for his life as he asks for prayers before he undergoes another surgery.
The musician underwent his first surgery in December last year and was afforded a chance to spend the festive season with his family at home after he was discharged from hospital before Christmas.
While the Ebumnandini hitmaker feels much better, he told TshisaLIVE he is scheduled for an operation in two weeks.
Speaking to the publication, he said: “I’m feeling much better abuti (my brother) and I’m well. Looking forward to the operation, everyone around me is happy with my progress. My fans should continue to pray for me, that’s all I can say,” he said.
The 51-year-old known for chart-toppers such as Ingagara, Ghets Ghetsa and Monate So first had a health scare which left him hospitalised for the weekend. According to ZiMoja, Doc Shebeleza was then rushed to hospital after he reportedly became debilitated.
The publication cited that he drove himself to a nearby hospital where doctors took multiple tests to examine his condition. After this incident Doc’s health deteriorated, after multiple tests done by doctors it was later found that Doc’s veins were not functioning effectively and later needed to undergo surgery.
Speaking on the matter, family spokesperson Shakes Mavundla said: “Mzansi, please put our Kwaito legend, businessman, Amaha chairperson in your good, blessed prayers, who continues to assist the poorest of the poorest in our beautiful country.”
