5 celebrities living with bipolar disorder

Bipolar disorder has been put in the spotlight this week, after a People magazine exclusive revealed that American singer Mariah Carey has been living with illness since 2001.

1. Jennifer Lewis

Popular for playing the role of Ruby Johnson on hit comedy series Blackish, Jennifer Lewis has been living with bipolar disorder for over 20 years.

2. Mariah Carey 

Mariah Carey has revealed that she has been living secretly with bipolar II disorder since 2001.

3. Macy Gray

Known for her eclectic music, Macy Gray, has admitted to taking medication for bipolar disorder.

4. Chris Brown

Chris Brown was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder in 2013.

5. DMX

In 2011, rapper DMX revealed that he had been battling with bipolar disorder and drug abuse.
