TV presenter and rapper Anele Zondo, also known by her stage name ‘Ney the Bae,’ sparked dating rumours with businessman and founder of GEM (Gunguluza Enterprises and Media) Lebo Gunguluza, who recently divorced The Real Housewives of Johannesburg reality star Lebo Mokoena.
The businessman and his ex-wife (who were married for three years) had a traditional wedding between 2017 and 2018 when they flew to Mauritius for a lavish white wedding with over 100 guests, including celebrities such as Thembi Seete and Collen Mashawana.
According to DRUM, Lebo Gunguluza released a statement in a now-deleted Instagram post confirming his divorce back in 2021 saying, “There has been a lot of speculation around our marriage and separation. Yes, we have been separated for almost a year now, and our divorce is almost finalised. We remain good friends and co-parents to our son. I hope this brings clarity to speculation.”
According to ZiMoja – an entertainment publication- it was then speculated that after his divorce he was rumoured to be dating Anele and the relationship lasted almost a year before they broke up.
Sources close to the former couple claim that they would go on vacations together and served couple goals, adding that the break up was cited by the fact that the businessman could no longer afford to impress Anele which led to the end of their alleged relationship, says the ZiMoja.
Anele responded to these dating rumours when she told the entertainment publication that they were not true, saying, “I know him and yes we were close but never dated.” When asked why they used to go on vacation and attend events together, she added, “Because he was close to my ex whose name I can’t mention.”
