Former Bongo Maffin member Stoan ventures into DJing

Multi-talented musician Stoan Seate hits the decks as he ventures into DJing.

Stoan has become a force to be reckoned with from being a part of the most-talked-about Kwaito group Bongo Maffin, to acting and presenting he has shown viewers that there’s nothing he can’t do. During his time in the group, the musician was romantically linked to fellow band member Thandiswa Mazwai who shares a 24-year-old daughter Malaika and three daughters with his wife whom he has been with for 28 years.

According to ZiMoja, the DJ gets a lot of gigs at nightclub in Randburg called Amigos where he DJs from various genres such as: old school Kwaito, House, Hip-Hop, and Amapiano. The club manager told the entertainment publication that Stoan was well-received at the club and he was able to draw in a crowd with his throwback songs, adding, “He respects his craft, and people always talk about age, but music has no age. Stoan is a good DJ and we hope to see him play more at the big festival.”

Although Bongo Maffin has been together for 28 years a close friend states that the group might not get back together given that they last released a song in 2005 and given their success as individuals it is not certain if that is true.

“Venturing into DJing is not a bad idea. The group will never fully return and make music like they used to, let’s be honest,”adding,”Thandiswa has successfully built her brand outside of the group and she was the bond that glued them all together,” says the friend to ZiMoja.
