It is often said that when a door closes another door is opened, and for Junior Khanye this has certainly been the case.

The former Kaizer Chiefs footballer is excited to take fans on a journey as he prepares himself to make the career change from sportsman to becoming a reality star mzansi.

The talented athlete has been playing for the Soweto Giants since the age of 17. Being a lively character when it came to soccer, Junior was earmarked to be a big talent in the future. However, due to a series of bad choices and several challenges that led to his self-destruction, he later found himself in a life of poverty.

News publication IOL shared that he faced tough times including living in a shack and going two or more days without food.

Meanwhile, he came a long way since then, landing himself the role of a football analyst, as well as author and now teams up with Mzansi Wethu for his reality show called “Fixing the Game.”

The show places a key emphasis on Junior trying to correct the mistakes of the past hoping that others may resonate and learn valuable lessons from it.

One of the key themes include his fixing the relationship with his first love for the sake of his children and the rest of the family.

Speaking about what the second chance would mean to him he said: “I am honoured and humbled. Through this show I want to be an example that every change you want in your life starts with you.”

The show is set to premiere on 11 July at 18h30.
