Moses Tembe, the father of the late Anele Tembe, the fiancé to the slain rapper Kiernan Forbes has officially dismissed the rumours linking him to being responsible for AKA’s death.

This year, family, friends, and fans of AKA celebrated the first anniversary following his passing on the 10th of February last year. The Don’t Forget to Pray rapper and close friend Tabello “Tibsz” Motsoane were shot dead at the Wish Restaurant on Florida Road in Durban.

Shortly after the killing, footage showing exactly how the incident took place started trending on social media platforms with many then speculating that this was an intended hit that could have been instructed by someone in power living in the Kwa-Zulu Natal Province.

At the top of the list was Moses Tembe, who many believed wanted to get revenge on the rapper for the tragic passing of his daughter Anele.

In a recent interview with the public broadcast news channel SABC News, he denied any involvement in the killing of the 35-year-old.

While multiple suspects have been arrested, Moses says that he has been following the case and believes that the police have done a thorough job. He further added that while many may think he is involved, the police have never once contacted him in connection with the murder.

“It is with grave concern that my family and I have had to endure a flurry of posts on various social media platforms that accuse me, and members of my family, of being involved in the death of Kiernan Forbes. These accusations are untrue and without substance.”

He further stated: “I categorically state that my family feels the pain of the Forbes family and would never be involved in an abhorrent act of this nature.”

He added that the “baseless” accusations have taken a toll on his family and asked the public to refrain from spreading false news.
