In a recent exclusive interview with Xabiso Ngqabe on Showmax, Nimrod Nkosi sat down to discuss his role in the new legal drama Law, Love, and Betrayal.

Nimrod known for his diverse acting talent, revealed that his character is central to the show’s story, navigating a mix of legal and personal challenges.

When asked about his new character, Nimrod described his character Gatsha Gumede as a man who has achieved a lot in life, despite a challenging background, achieved great success. Gatsha pursued his education in law and eventually established his firm, Gumede and Associates, growing it from a small start and Gatsha is an expert in constitutional law. He often goes to court to clean up complex situations and facilitate takeovers.

Nimrod explained that his interest in drama began early. “I grew up watching law-inspired movies like To Kill A Mockingbird and shows like LA Law, Matlock, Chicago Law, and Boston Legal. When I was 11 years old, these were the shows I watched.”

When asked if he and Gatsha Gumede would ever be friends, Nimrod responded affirmatively, “Yes. I like men of power and stature, but I prefer quiet power[…]If I needed someone to be put in their place, I’d call Gatsha.”

The challenging part of playing Gatsha for Nimrod was understanding the character’s deep-seated anger. Although Gatsha is successful, he has faced burdens and difficult cases that weigh heavily on him. To separate himself from the character, he would mentally prepare before scenes and ensure he left Gatsha’s anger behind when he left work.
