South African actress, TV personality and human rights activist Nomzamo Mbatha has been a force to be reckoned with since she made her international debut as not only an actress but also following her appointment as one of the United Nations High Commission for Refugees – UNHCR – Goodwill ambassadors in 2019, with her journey beginning in 2017.

This agent of change has embarked on numerous journeys where she has been an advocate for the rights of others and used her voice to improve the standard of living for many families and children in our African and global countries

Upon her appointment in 2019, Nomzamo touched on her journey with the UNHCR sharing that “many people think this role is about giving but it’s also about receiving and understanding the human spirit, receiving empathy and understanding our common language as human being,” she shared with the UN Refugee Agency.

In a recent Instagram post, Nomzamo shared pictures of her rubbing shoulders with many international figures at the Earthshot Awards in Singapore.

The Earthshot Prize Organization defines the prize as “a global challenge based on five Earthshots – ambitious goals for 2030 to fix our biggest environmental problems.”

Nomzamo took to Instagram to share:

“From Over 1000 entries, multiple grueling selection stages and interviews, to find the top 15 finalists… it comes down to the final FIVE who each walk away with £1 million prize to support efforts to scale their innovative climate and environmental solutions! Steered with clear vision, leadership and passion from HRH @princeandprincessofwales”

For those who are not quite informed of what these awards are about, she further provided depth saying:

“What the Earthshot Prize does is to lift the lid of invisibility to the incredible and brilliant minds around the world who are coming up with durable, scalable and effective solutions/methods to combat the climate crisis.
Innovation on astronomical levels! Wonderful and Inspiring evening. Bravo @earthshotprize team! ??✨

Nomzamo concluded her caption by giving a shout out to the people responsible for evening dress  and also shared where people could watch the prize ceremony:

“Special love to the @stellamccartney team for my gown! ?.The ceremony airs ?globally on BBC, PBS, @multichoice_group , and other international broadcast channels from Sunday 12 November #EarthshotSingapore2023”
