Robbie Malinga Jr., son of the late South African music icon Robbie Malinga, has been making waves in recent months, as he continues to captivate audiences on Showmax’s Born Into Fame. The reality show offers a glimpse into his life, showcasing not only his luxurious lifestyle but also his reflections on what it means to inherit fame.

Born into a family with fame and talent, Robbie Jr. has never shied away from the spotlight. Known for his expensive taste he got attention for his lavish shopping sprees and glamorous outings, often showcased on social media.

DRUM stated that in the latest episode of Born Into Fame, aired on the 18th of June Robbie Jr. took centre stage, and offered viewers a candid glimpse into his life, his family dynamics, and what it truly means to inherit fame.

“I would describe being born into fame as a privilege because it is not a norm, it is a blessing, and it is something that can help you spread light and reach your full potential.

“There are many privileges to being born into fame. For example, my father was famous and all that has been great, I am able to leverage from his success. Let’s say I need to do something – there are contacts that he may have made that I can use, so it is easier for me to connect with people because they know him,” he said.

Acknowledging the advantages, Robbie Jr. highlights how his father’s legacy provides valuable connections and opportunities.

“I think the biggest disadvantage is getting excessive attention from the public eye. Even when it is not needed, there is always someone looking at you and your life. You become very recognisable, so you don’t have a lot of time when you can just have downtime.”

Known for his flamboyant style, Robbie Jr. attributes his taste for the finer things in life to his upbringing.

“I have always been that type of person, that is my type of personality. I love the finer things in life, and I love to experience them[..] Also, my dad was that type of person, he loved dope things and things that were nice, so growing up I used to see that from him and it was normal in our household.”
