Tony Forbes recently opened up in an interview with TshisaLive and provided details regarding his son’s murder investigation.

It’s been six months since the murder of AKA, real name Kiernan Jarryd Forbes. The rapper died alongside his friend, celebrity Chef Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane in Durban, Florida road on 10 February. The long-term friends were shot while embracing each other outside Wish restaurant, which has since been closed down permanently.

According to the South African, following the release of leaked CCTV footage of the rapper’s murder, his followers have been vocal about who they believe was responsible for the cold-blood murder. The Forbes family had already issued a statement encouraging AKA’s supporters, dubbed “The Megacy,” to remain still and allow the law to run its course.

The statement issued by the family reads as follows, “We are at a loss for words to describe our gratitude for the outpouring of love that we received from the Megacy. We’ve seen people deeply hurt by Kiernan’s murder and wanting justice. As a family, we emphasise the grief experienced, and we understand your pain. At this time, we call on the Megacy to mourn responsibly and ask for patience so that the law enforcers have the space to do their job.”

With regards to the update given by Tony Forbes involving the murder, the father of the Sponono hitmaker states that the case has yet to be cracked.

“There are days where one hopes to hear the news that something happened. But we still want to give the process space. We are in touch with investigators and [they] keep us abreast, it does seem slow, but it’s only been six months,” Tony was quoted as saying.
