A TikToker by the name of Ntando Mawela became a statistic in the growing online scamming trend that many Mzansi citizens have fallen victim to.
The user who goes by the handle @Ntandososh3 on the social media platform TikTok shared a video of her couriered parcel which was supposed to be clothing items and sneakers that she bought from online marketer @userNomandla.
Instead of receiving the clothing items she paid R2350 for, Ntando’s courier arrived with a packet of chips.
Ntando, who started worrying when she felt the package was extremely lighter than expected opened bags to get to her big surprise while still recording. chips which were packed in two courier bags.
Holding the courier bag that looked light as paper, she said:
“Ng’cela nibuke (please look).”
The courier was kind enough to pack the packet of chips in two courier bags leading to the TikToker uttering, “Aweh ma, kanti emhlabeni kunjani (oh my gosh, how is this earth like), as she opened the second bag. ”
Taking out the pack of chips she said, “Ng’cela nibuke (please look at this) ohh my goodness. Kanti injani lengane (why is this girl like this)?”
She continued, “R2350 of my money gone, like really. Anjani amantombazana ase Thekwini, (But how are these Durban girls).”
A sobbing Ntando continued, “I’m shaking guys No!”

On the TitToker’s comment section, social media users had many questions with some asking for more details on the story, the scammer’s details and contact number.
“Give us full details please What were you exactly buying, how much you spent and what did you receive… Save the next victim by sharing all details,” said one user.
“How does the courier allow you to send ama chips bandla (gosh)? Imagine driving from KZN to MP to deliver into ye (something worth) R1? Yoh,” added one user.
Another user did not understand the concept of buying things from an unknown person commenting, “How do you order from someone who hasn’t shown their face on social media ntombi (girl)?”
