These are the benefits of steaming your face

Achieving clear and blemish-free skin is a goal that many of us strive for. Not only does our skin enhance our appearance, but it also significantly impacts our self-confidence and self-esteem.

While it is common to spend a fortune on expensive skincare products, there is a cheaper and effective way to achieve perfect skin – and that’s by steaming your face. Yes, you heard it right – steam can work wonders for your skin.

According to Master Class – a digital lifestyle publication – steaming involves using the vapour produced by hot water to soothe and revive your facial skin.

You can either purchase a facial steamer or simply use a bucket filled with hot water and a towel to unblock your clogged pores. This can be done at least once a week and has been proven to have positive results.

Here’s how you can steam your face:

Fill a bucket with hot water, cover the bucket with a towel, and once the water has cooled down slightly, put your head under the towel, keeping your head at a decent distance away from the water, and let the steam work its magic.

Ensure that there are no gaps left open as this could allow air to escape. The process can be done between 5 – 8 minutes. Once you’re done, use a towel to dampen your face and continue with the rest of your skincare routine.

As per Healthline, another publication focusing on health and wellness – there are numerous benefits of steaming your face, making it a must-try for anyone seeking clear, glowing skin.

These are some of them:

  • Opens up pores to loosen the build-up of dirt.
  • It promotes blood circulation.
  • Releasing acne causing bacteria.
  • It hydrates your skin.
  • Allows your skin to better absorb skincare products.
  • Helps with sinus congestion.
