Empire actor Jussie Smollett has received an outpouring of support following his homophobic and racial attack by two men. According to a statement released by the Chicago Police Department, the men began hurling racial and homophobic slurs at the star then proceeded to physically attack him, tied a rope around his neck and poured a chemical substance on him.
The department revealed that it’s currently investigating the matter and treating it as a hate crime while the star is recovering in hospital.
