YouTube has announced its Stay Home With Me festival line-up for this year’s Easter weekend. The celebrations will kick off on Good Friday with performances from some of the continent’s best-known gospel artists including heavyweights like South Africa’s Benjamin Dube, and Mthunzi Namba, alongside Nigerian gospel superstars Nosa and Glowreeyah Braimah.

In addition to the performances by gospel artists, fans can also tune in to LIVE performances by hip hop and pop artists like Nasty C and Jethro Tait. Celebrity chef Lorna Maseko, beauty vlogger Thandi Gama and lifestyle guru Yolz will also be releasing special Stay Home #WithMe videos this weekend where they will cook, glow-up and practise self-care with their subscribers.
Speaking on the series, content partnership manager for YouTube Africa Addy Awofisayo said in part; “Stay Home #WithMe is a way of encouraging social distancing at this time while bringing everyone together around music, artists and content creators they love.”
YouTube’s Stay Home #With Me festival kicked off two weeks ago in response to lockdown regulations in countries like South Africa and Nigeria. With known COVID-19 cases on the continent jumping to more than 10 000 this week, music lovers can enjoy uplifting performances from their favourite gospel artists in the comfort and safety of their own homes.
