With a few weeks into the lockdown, there’s some good news in terms of local shows you can add to your watch list. Streaming giant Netflix has acquired 3 local movies and series you can stream from next month.
Netflix South Africa took to social media to announce that it will be adding Gangster’s Paradise: Jerusalema to its platform after receiving hoards of requests.

Ralph Ziman’s Gangster’s Paradise: Jerusalema boasts with a star-studded cast that includes Rapulana Seiphemo, Jeffrey Zekele, Kenneth Nkosi and Ronnie Nyakale. The movie follows a young hoodlum’s rise from a small-time criminal to a powerful crime entrepreneur during the turbulent years before and after the fall of apartheid. The film will be available for streaming from 1 May 2020.

2. Award-winning show Intersexions will be available on the platform from 5 May. The hit drama series examines how that which remains unsaid in love, relationships, and sex may place us at greatest risk of HIV infection. The first season will be available from 5 May and the second season will follow a week later on 12 May 2020.
3. Hopeville follow a recovering alcoholic Amos who is on a quest to fix his relationship with his estranged son, Themba. They then move to a small town called Hopeville where he tries to restore the public pool. It stars Themba Ndaba, Mary Twala, Leleti Khumalo, Terry Pheto, Desmond Dube, and Fana Mokoena. Hopeville will be available from
