Keep your skin summer-ready by following these easy tips.
Drink enough water
Staying hydrated is important, so make sure that you drink enough water during the day. It is easy to get dehydrated in the heat, and this will show on your skin. Also, make sure that you don’t drink a lot of tea and coffee as the caffeine drains moisture from the body.
Use the right cleanser
Don’t use body soap on your face as it is often too harsh. You should also not just rely on face wipes to remove make-up and cleanse your face in the evening. Rather use good-quality products to cleanse your face in order to prevent harming your skin.
Remember to moisturise
Always use the right moisturiser after cleansing your face. Not using the right moisturiser may leave your skin either dry or oily. Remember that you can use a lighter moisturiser during summer and a thick one during the winter months. Use it twice a day, in the morning and evening, for best results.
Sunscreen
Summer sunshine is great, but not so great for your skin. This is because the UVA and UVB rays from the sun penetrate and damage the skin. So, wear a minimum sun protection factor of 30 all-year round (yes, even in winter!) before you moisturise to keep your skin protected. Sunscreen also helps to avoid developing or worsening hyperpigmentation and dark spots.
Rinse after swimming
Water that contains chlorine dries out the skin. So, it is important to rinse off after swimming in order to keep your skin looking its best.
