Actress and producer Sonia Mbele has released a statement regarding the alleged abuse and rape which her son Donell Mbele is being accused of by his rumoured “baby mama” who goes by the name of Reokeditswe.
The actress expressed in her statement that she experienced that type of abuse from the age of 17 to 26 with a man who was physically, psychologically and emotionally abusive towards her and therefore she does not “ stand for, support or condone such stance,” she said.
The actress further explained that she is in full support of Reokeditswe who she saw and treated as her daughter.
“I not only welcomed Reokeditswe Makete into my house but I treated her as a daughter and worked with her in support of her career in the entertainment industry, and right now I would like to reassure her that she still has my love and full support,” she wrote.
She also expressed that she should have taken preventive measures such as counseling or child therapy to prevent such issues.
The actress son is set to take accountability of his actions and face the law.
“With that being said Donell will face his demons and take accountability for his actions and let the law take its course. I refuse to raise a man like his father. Rehab, therapy and internal healing will prevail.” she said.

Reokeditswe accused Donell on Instagram of alleged physical and sexual abuse.
According to Reokeditswe, the child star who played as Queen Moroka’s son on the old Generations reportedly assaulted her when she confronted him about him cheating on her.
The 21-year-old opened up about the alleged abuse in their relationship on her Instagram Stories on Tuesday 22 November, claiming that Donell assaulted her on four different occasions.
“This man abused me on four different occasions. Each time, worse than the last. And on the most recent time, I wanted to [l]ay charges but was conflicted by so many things. Firstly, my love for him. I put him before myself and all I thought about was his future and how selfish I’d be to ruin it,” she said.
“Secondly, his mom is [a] public figure, so I didn’t want to drag her name into it. But after today, he hit me, suffocated me and dragged me around his house, then laughed in my face. I realised this man isn’t going to change and the man I feel in love with, just doesn’t exist anymore. I appreciate the love and support you all are giving me.
“So now I need to put myself first. And for those asking, yes I am opening a case. It was the last thing I expected,” she added.
There was an exchange message between Reokeditswe and Donell where he allegedly states that he could not continue the relationship any longer as he claims it is “toxic”
“I almost f**ing killed you. I almost raped you. This isn’t a man you deserve to be with…love isn’t supposed to be toxic, especially to the point where I almost kill you,” Donell is alleged to have said.
