Mihlali Ndamase’s alleged lover, Leeroy Sidambe has allegedly been avoiding paying security guards for the R26 million government contract his company, Sakhile Ezweni Group received. He has allegedly failed to pay 95 security guards who were employed under a contract with the Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) and the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC).
City Press reports that the guards attempted to collect their unpaid wages numerous times before staging a protest at the company’s offices in Sandton.
According to the publication, they demand the following from Sidambe:
Salary for August and September; compensation for overtime; their payslips; the allegedly withheld provident fund contributions from their wages.
According to the publication, Sidambe’s business had won a R26.3 million, two-year contract to provide security at RTMC colleges, including the Boekenhoutkloof and Denel campuses, as well as at its Centurion headquarters in Eco Park. According to Simon Zwane, an RTMC spokesperson, the contract was given between October 2020 and September 30 of this year.
Zwane says that he is aware that Sidambe’s business failed to pay its employees for September, the final month of their contract.
Speaking to the publication, Zwane had this to say, “The staff said that the reason they were given for not being paid was that the RTMC hadn’t paid Sakhile Ezweni at the end of September, which wasn’t true. All invoices relating to the contract were paid. Unfortunately, Sidambe’s been unreachable, and calls to him have gone unanswered from the beginning of October right through to November,” said Zwane.
Leeroy has not refuted or conceded the allegations.
