The question that most fans have is, “Was Nigerian born artist Burna Boy snubbed at the Grammy’s?”
Burna Boy has lost twice after being nominated at the Grammy’s awards, in 2020, he lost the world music album to Angelique Kidjo and this year, he has lost to a South African song called “Bayethe” by Zakes Bantwini, Nomcebo Zikode and Wouter Kellerman.
However, In 2021 he did break the record as a first Nigerian artist to win a Grammy in the category of lead artist in the Best world music album.
According to Okay Africa, “the loss begs the question of why was a song that seemingly has less impact worldwide with 233k views trumped Burna Boy’s Last last song with 166 Million views?”
After the Nigerian superstar lost the Grammy award, fans took to social media to share their disappointment, some alleging that the Last last hitmaker has reportedly slammed the Grammy’s for not giving him the award as a deserving artist.

Although, there are mixed reactions as to how the afrobeats star feels about losing, some are questioning his loyalty towards his industry peers that won:
It’s been almost 24hours since the Grammy winners were announced and Burna Boy is yet to congratulate Tems and Nocembo on winning their first Grammy award last night. A countryman that can’t celebrate another countrywoman doesn’t deserve sympathy for his losses from his people.

According to some fans of Burna Boy, even though the star has won a Grammy before, for this year, he was also deserving as his nominated song Last last has over 160 million views on YouTube alone and the winning song Bayethe has 233K. Not to mention other streams like Spotify that prove the record’s numbers.
