South African rapper Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, who was professionally known as AKA, was shot and killed in front of Wish Restaurant on Florida Road in Durban on Friday, 10th of February 2023.
Hours before the rapper was gunned down, he updated his followers on his social media with details about his move of the day, by tagging the places he had visited.
The information he released was believed to have made his killing quick. Which led to many people warning celebrities to stop sharing their live location, as it is not safe but much rather share it once you have left the place.
Speaking to eNCA Philani Kweyama who was AKA’s friend said that the late rapper was trying to promote different businesses in Durban which was why he shared his location.
“I just take you through his last moment. That was the happiest that I ever seen ou Kiernan in the whole time that I have known him. The way he embraced me when he came through.
He continued by telling the publication how the rapper called him earlier in the day saying that he wants to promote his business.
“He called me earlier in the day and said Benni, I know you got a new spot, let check it. I wanna go cut my hair at your place. I keep hearing about the food, the fish at your place. I wanna come eat at your place,” Philani told the publication.
Philani ended of by saying that AKA was in Durban to support all of them and how he was excited to be in Durban, as well as having many future plans.
The death of the slain rapper has left many people in the industry heartbroken and distraught, with many looking for answers while others are simply choosing to beef up their securities saying “South Africa is no longer safe for them.”
