Nadia Nakai is still struggling to come to terms with AKA’s tragic death on February 10 and has revealed he did not read the last text message she sent to him.
She shared the screenshots of their chat and it’s devastating to read.
The couple were messaging each other and updating their whereabouts, with both asking the other to be safe.
On the Friday of AKA’s death, he messaged Nadia, saying, “Taking off baby. Love you.” Nadia replied, saying, “I love you too baby be safe.”
On the afternoon of that fateful day, AKA updated Nakai on his arrival in Durban and told her he was “headed to the hotel”.
Around 10.15pm, she texted him, asking for the song Mbuzi from his latest album Mass Country. She later informed him of her whereabouts but AKA never got to read the messages.

Nakai posted the screenshot on her Instagram story where she said, “The fact that these messages were never delivered because you were gone?”. She added: “I’m going to miss our FaceTimes, calls and texts…,” with a broken heart emoji added to the post.
Nakai’s also took to Twitter to mourn Costa Titch’s death, asking why it seemed artists were falling “one by one”.
“God! So you just going to take them one by one! What is the plan here!! I’m so freaked out, what is going on here?! Someone please explain,” she tweeted. She followed it up with another tweet saying: “Death, please stop”.
