Top countries South Africans can emigrate to

High employment rates, high costs of living, corruption and being forced – once again – to endure stage 6 loadshedding can be quite a pain in the butt for many South Africans. So much so that you find yourself thinking about packing up and leaving the country.

Yes, we have a beautiful rainbow nation, unlike any other. However, sometimes one might feel the need to start afresh in a new environment.

Visa Guide lists a few countries you might consider.

Portugal

Situated in the southern part of Europe, the country offers business opportunities, ensured safety and is family-friendly.

Prospective students can move to Portugal with a student visa, while successful job applicants can use a work visa. Portugal’s golden visa is also quite popular. This requires individuals to make investments in the country. However, this option has recently become quite controversial.

United Kingdom

Given the history between the two countries, opting to live in the UK is sure to be on a few people’s lists.

The UK boasts many job opportunities and has a great education system. Just note that the weather is way different to what we experience here in South Africa.

Mauritius

If you ever thought about living on an island nation, Mauritius is the place to go.

Deemed one of the safest places in Africa, Mauritius has a low crime rate and its residents are known to be friendly people.

Panama

Famous for its Panama Canal, the country offers 8 types of visas to those considering living there.

Panama has a low cost of living and prides itself on its multicultural diversity… much like South Africa!
