In a series of tweets, Makhadzi alleged that she did not receive payments for her sales from “former” record label, Open Mic Productions.
This comes days after the award-winning singer released a statement thanking the record label for their “good work and contribution they made” to her music career. She also revealed in her statement that she decided not to renew her contract with Open Mic Productions as she will be focusing on other business ventures and her own company, Makhadzi Entertainment.
However, her recent tweets suggested otherwise.
She started off by saying, “Good morning , I don’t know where to start cz I have a lot to say.”

She then said in a thread, “I signed with open mic only for three years. In this three years I dropped 4 albums . I have never received any cent of my sales . Some of my album reached platinum some gold . And a lot of hits songs that reached platinum and Gold . But I continue to work without complaining.”

The singer added that she wanted to serve her contract and avoid the record label having to say that she breached said contract.
Cz all I wanted was to serve my contract , to avoid them saying I bridged the contract .

She then alleged that nobody gave her a copy of the signed contract, “I worked with open mic without a copy of my contract ever since they said they will send it , I kept on reminding the but no one was willing to send me my contract.”

Speaking about the statement she previously released, Makhadzi added, “All I wanted was to do my things in peace , that’s why I dropped my statement last week without pointing any fingers.” She then said that the record label is disputing her statement and claimed that her contract was automatically renewed.
All I wanted was to do my things in peace , that’s why I dropped my statement last week without pointing any fingers. Now they are disputing my statement, they are saying my contract is auto renewal , my question is how possible is that to sign me and not give me my copy of contr

The Metro FM Awards winner for Best Female Artist also shared that her new song Niazwifha, which she released on 5 May on YouTube, was removed from the platform due to copyright issues after reaching over 130 000 views . “[T]his breaks me more cz they don’t want to see me working but being their slave,” she said.
