After announcing a few weeks ago that she would be releasing a new EP titled Auto Renewal, a name inspired by her contract issues with music label Open Mic Productions, an emotional Makhadzi has now shared a snippet of a song that seemingly addresses her ex.
The award-winning musician took to Instagram to share a video of what she has in store for her fans.
She captioned the post, “Dear Ex, Dear New Love ???. We’re starting a new chapter now… All the best.”
A teary-eyed Makhadzi shared the lyrics of the song too. When translated into English, the lyrics read as follows:
Wherever you go, be happy (x2). They should nurse you well (x2). Your new-found love should love you abundantly (x2), and treat you well (x2). We’re now new to the world (x2), because you’re new to someone, I’m also new to someone else. And they’re treating us well (x2).

On Facebook, Makhadzi shared the same video, however, her caption read differently to that of her Instagram post.
She wrote, “Dear ex, please move on and be happy. I am not crying because I still love you. I am crying because [it] is not easy to start a new chapter [in] life. I wish you all the best. We must make sure our new partners treat us well so we can never think of turning back. Are you ready for my album?”
According to reports, Makhadzi and musician Master KG ended their relationship eight months ago. However, Makhadzi had not shared the name of the ex she is referring to.
In another Instagram post, a glammed-up Makhadzi updated fans on her upcoming album.
“It’s about to get down now preparing for summer. #autorenewal album ? loading. All the way from #makhadzientertainment.”
