Mondli Makhoba of the new Mzansi Magic’s drama series Shaka iLembe honoured actor, dancer and singer Khabonina Qubeka on a post recently.
The two actors star in the bomb_productions drama series that has almost all of Mzansi’s best actors in one group. Mondli portrays character Ngomane while Khabonina plays Ntombazi.
Taking to his Instagram, Bhut’omdala as affectionately called by The Wife viewers for his character Nkosana Zulu, shared to a picture of Khabonina in her Ntombazi attire and penned down a heartfelt message directed to the actress and dancer.
He shared:
“I remember her on Isidingo the Need. I remember her on @generations_the_legacy. I remember meeting her for the first time at @bomb_productions in that long preproduction of Shaka Ilembe. I remember her on set of Shaka Ilembe, the loudness in the car from set to base. But the same loudness is heard in her portrayal of Queen Ntombazi.
Today, I want to say thank you, @khabonina_q, for how you approached Ntombazi. I am thankful that her spirit chose you. She comes alive in you. She is calm, sure, and loving to her children no matter what. We believe her. You have done a brilliant job with this character, sisi. Big up to the casting at @bomb_productions for trusting you with her.”

Khabonina was among those who commented, adding:
“Sir Mondli ? you know how I appreciate and love and respect you bhuti … so THIS coming from YOU means EVERYTHING ?? ??.”
Mondli responded saying:
“@khabonina_q, you deserve to be upheld for you craft is amazing.”
Media personality and African spiritual teacher Gogo Dineo commented:
