Lemohang Tsipa might not have received as much hype as he did yesterday on social media when he was introduced as the main character Shaka on the Mzansi Magic’s Shaka iLembe. Yesterday, things took a good turn as the talented actor left series viewers raving on X (formerly Twitter) about how he was able to transform himself into the massive character Shaka.
The show has been among the top trends on X every Sunday since its debut. Since airing, TV viewers have gotten to see the best South African actors in one of the most historical tales in Mzansi’s history, a story of the making of a great African King.
The show boasts actors such as Lemohanga Tsipa, Nomzamo Mbatha, Dawn Thandeka King, Wiseman Mncube, Khabonina Qubeka and many more.
After yesterday’s stellar performance by Lemohang, social media viewers were left convinced that the late Henry Cele, who is what many regard as the face of Shaka, would approve of Lemohang’s portrayal of the character.
They shared:
I apologise for undermining you bafo ..uyishayile mfowethu Henry Cele is proud of you wherever he is…#ShakaiLembeMzansi pic.twitter.com/YsvVawK9fp

Henry Cele will always be Shaka at the back of minds, but Lemogang Tsipa is ticking all the boxes for me in terms of playing Shaka.

The irony is that just like Shaka was underestimated to becoming a warrior and later a king, Lemogang Tsipa also was underestimated to play the role of Shaka but look at him now⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐#ShakaiLembeMzansi pic.twitter.com/eXY9YVsBvs

People were complain about this man playing the role of Shaka Zulu even thou he is not a Zulu man. He is giving a 10/10 performance right now. #ShakaiLembeMzansi pic.twitter.com/xLfHuooj8C

#ShakaiLembeMzansi is arguably the best production to ever come out of South Africa in our recent times. The historical setting (time), language use, music, costumes & cinematography are outta this world. Well done to the production team & the cast. Really a story for the ages! pic.twitter.com/BmlfPZHVub
