South African singer Zakhele Madida, better known as Zakes Bantwini, revealed why he will not be performing at WITS University this August.
The Grammy-award-winning musician announced his The Road To Abantu tour weeks ago on his various social media platforms.
He posted a list on Wednesday showing the four universities where he will be giving performances from this month through September.
“The Road To Abantu has officially begun and I can’t wait to see you guys out at the Abantu Campus Activations! Might add a couple more dates too,” he captioned the post.

However, a fan of the record producer and businessman questioned Zakes as to why Wits uni was absent from the list, to which Zakes responded by revealing that the institution asked him to pay before he can perform for the students.
“We reached out @WitsUniversity and they said we must pay them to perform for you guys,” he wrote.
