In a now-deleted TikTok video, rapper Dee Koala shared that she is not loving the taste of Uncle Waffles and KFC’s waffle burger.
The comeback of the waffle burger sparked much excitement for many fans of both brands. However, upon tasting the burger, some were not feeling the sweet and savory combination of the crispy KFC fillet dunked in maple chipotle sauce, served with cheese between two warm waffles.
One of those people included Dee Koala.
Although the video was deleted, one social media user saved the video and shared it on X.
In the video, the Cape Town-born rapper is heard saying, “Guys I’m not into sweet stuff, so I’m taking one bite and that’s it.”
She then says, “You know what guys, let me try and taste the chicken without the other part. Sorry Waffles, I love you, but yoh. It tastes bad, and Waffles must not get offended, you didn’t make this burger. Maybe it works without the waffles, it’s all I got to say but hayi nkosi yam.”

Many shared the opinions about Dee’s reaction to the burger.
“Not everyone can stomach sweet and savory at the same time and that’s okay. I think people are having a hard time understanding that other people will enjoy it but others won’t,” said one X user.

“KFC tried to force these mix and match American flavours on us. We don’t eat waffles with chicken here. We eat waffles with ice cream,” wrote another.
