Exactly two years after her daughter Linile Vunani passed on, former Metro FM host Ntombee Ngcobo Mzolo opened up about refusing to allow that day to keep her in pain and trauma. Ntombi’s daughter Linile passed on from a car accident on September 14th, 2021.
Confirming her daughter’s death with the Daily Sun publication, the Amaponi band member had at the time shared:
“I don’t think I am strong enough to talk about it right now, but she lost her life through a car accident. We’re heartbroken and still coming to terms with her passing. I can’t even properly explain how I feel right now as it has been a traumatic time for me and my family. But through God’s grace, we are being strong.”
Speaking of the same day in 2023, Ntombee shared how she decided she would not allow the date (September 14th) to add to her pain and trauma. She went on to add that she was choosing to stay happy and positive, without giving “the date” the power to hold her back.
Sharing a video of herself with a lady doing a TikTok dance challenges Ntombee captioned her post:
“On 14 September 2021, I lost my beautiful baby girl, Linile. Yesterday, I had such an amazing day as we wrapped another great show that God has blessed with me. I completely forgot it was 14 September 2023 until I received messages and calls from people checking up on me.”
“This made me realise that yesterday was a brand new day, and I could make it whatever I wanted it to be. It’s only my mind that can take me back to that dark place if I allowed it to, but I don’t have to carry the pain and trauma of 14 September 2021 for the rest of my life. There’s no need for a pity party because clearly the choice is mine. I can be happy if I stay positive and focus on the good things in my life. The 14th of September 2021 came once and went forever with all its troubles.
The former Metro FM host added:
“I obviously have the power over these dates and numbers. They can never hurt me unless I allow them to. The numbers and dates might be the same but it’s definitely not the same day.”
“Yesterday was indeed a brand new day, and what a beautiful day it was. I made beautiful new memories with amazing people, and another great show was signed, sealed, and delivered.”
Ntombee finished off adding:
“I’m always praying for my peace and the wisdom to handle all that I’ve gone through, and I thank God for answering my prayers. He is forever forever faithful .”
