Singer-songwriter Amanda Black had a few social media users scratching their heads after seeing what she wore to one of her performances.
The Amazulu songstress, who usually opts for outfits that speak to her comfortability, recently performed at the Maseru Jazz Festival, where there was more of a buzz around her outfit choice than her performance.
One festival attendee took to X (formerly Twitter) to share her experience of Amanda’s performance as well as a poorly-angled picture of what the singer wore.
The social media user wrote the following:
“I paid R250 for a ticket and Amanda Black came like this last night ko Maseru Jazz Festival.”

Although many people jumped to the singer’s defense, others questioned Amanda’s outfit choice.
Social media commentator Cellular wrote, “Stop judging people how they should be wearing. You went to the event to hear what she sings not what she’s wearing!”
Responding to the above, one social media user commented, “Cellular, presentation matters. For sure you go to a doctor to get medical help, but if your doctor is dressed like a mechanic with overalls covered with oil spills, it portrays unprofessionalism.”

Others supporting Amanda also wrote:
How you dress, how you dance, and how you sing is all part of a live show experience. Otherwise, people could have just listened to Spotify and kept it moving.
Amanda knows this. Respect your audience https://t.co/tP2m5y79Zg
