Wake up and smell the coffee, not every trend that you see on TikTok is worth trying without doing any research, especially one that includes your health.
According to Healthline – an American website and provider of health information – coffee can “help mobilize fat from fat tissue.”
What this simply means is the caffeine that is available in the coffee that we consume redirects signals to our fats and alerts them to break down the fat into smaller particles.
Healthline further explained that the greater one’s metabolic rate is, the higher their chances of weight loss are. A higher metabolic rate increases the chances of enabling one to consume foods without having to worry about weight gain being a factor.
Factors such as age and health conditions do need to be considered before implementing and attempting such diet changes.
As we have provided readers with this information, the next question would be, does coffee aid towards weight loss in the long run? Unfortunately, the answer remains no. While highlighting that caffeine may increase your metabolic rate, the long-term exposure of coffee to your system, however, has a disappointing result.
Once your system adapts to the consistent intake of caffeine to your body, your system becomes tolerant to the effects, and this results in seeing no changes as it stops working, explains Healthline.
In conclusion, Healthline advises that coffee not be consumed for the sake of weight loss. If the goal is to eventually find means to increase your metabolic rate, then enjoy this warm beverage in cycles which should lead to the factor of your body being tolerant to caffeine.
