“Too soon,” – This was how Springboks fans reacted to a tweet posted by well-known musician and producer – David ‘The Kiffness’ Scott.
Moments after the finals, the popular parodist took to X (formerly Twitter) to share the inspiration for this year’s Halloween attire – Cheslin Kolbe.
The post shows him wearing the famous green and gold Springboks jersey while stretching its collar all the way to the top of his head in reference to the Springboks winger’s reaction in the dying moments of Saturday’s game against the All Blacks.

Cheslin was yellow-carded and sent to the sin bin within the final minutes of the match after attempting to intercept a New Zealand ball. The referee regarded the action as a deliberate knockdown.
With Springboks in close lead by 12 – 11, Cheslin walked off the field in disappointment and covered his entire face with his jersey to save himself the heartbreak in a game that could have gone New Zealand’s way.
Meanwhile, The Kiffness’ post imitated the reaction with caption that read: “Halloween outfit 2023: Cheslin Kolbe”

While this was nothing other than a bit of humour for him, South African rugby lovers were not impressed by the timing of the joke.
One user quickly commented: “My dude… Come on! Not cool…,” to which The Kiffness later responded by saying that it was a joke, “Plus they won.”

A third user added: “@CheslinKolbe is a legend, always was and always will be, even if they lost. If they lost, he would be a legend who made a mistake, but he’d still be a legend #everyonemakesmistakes.”

Meanwhile, other users found the post hilarious and said that even Cheslin would have a good laugh if he saw the post.
