After 19 successful seasons, South Africa’ s biggest and longest running competition Idols SA has officially closed its curtain with a brand new and final winner – Thabo Ndlovu.
With three previous winners coming from Mpumalanga, this season the province was guaranteed another win as both contestants Tabo Ndlovu (26) and Princess Macdonald (24) hail from the province.
In the end it was Witbank’s Thabo Ndlovu who walked away with the top honours when the final episode aired on Saturday 4 November on Mzansi Magic.

The win seemed to be a big one for the 26-year-old, who looked shocked the minute his name was announced.
Not only did he receive a recording contract, but also a R1 000 000 cash prize, R100 000 Truworths voucher, a brand-new Toyota Vitz, plus many more prizes.
It’s giving King of Pop! 🔥🔥🔥
Having earned his stripes as one of the season’s most breath taking live performers, Thabo struck again with another rendition of MJ’s ‘The Way You Make Me Feel’ 🕺🏾🪩

After making it to the top four last month he told TimesLive that he was extremely humbled by the fans who continued to show their support on a weekly basis which helped him reach the top four at the time.
“The only Interaction I’ve had with them is them seeing me on TV. But for them to take time out of their day and actually vote for someone they have not met before, simply because they believe in that person, is quite humbling.”
Meanwhile, following the announcement that he was the new winner many took to X (formerly Twitter), to congratulate him.
Well done
He shook the Idols SA stage from the very first day he set his foot in it.Consistency after consistency.
The anointing upon him is beyond description.
