South African comedian and former host of The Daily Show Trevor Noah has officially released the first episode of his highly expected podcast, ‘What Now? – with Trevor Noah.’
In the first episode which aired on Spotify, Trevor introduced a guest well familiar to the public – Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
The pair are well familiar with one another and often bumped into each other at multiple events since Trevor’s move to the United States.
In typical, yet impressive Trevor Noah fashion, the podcast covered a unique angle of Dwayne beyond being an actor and focused more on him as a human being, his childhood, culture, past mistakes, the marriage turned business partnership, as well as the possibility of running for president of the USA.
The episode aired at the same time as his alleged “R33 million” tourism video advertisement circulated on the internet. Despite the mixed reactions received in that aspect of his life, fellow South Africans were once again fully behind their boy for this one.
Two of my favourite people in the world 💪🏼😍❤️❤️ You couldn’t have chosen anyone better for your first episode Trevor! 🔥🔥🔥💕🦋 pic.twitter.com/P4KqmGSQgL

Great conversation. I feel as a young man, it is refreshing to hear two grown men speak clearly and not about who’s hot who’s not. Great conversation, brilliant.

More recently The Rock himself extended his appreciation for having been honoured as the first guest on the show.
In one of his tweets, he thanks the comedian for the privilege.
“Appreciate you @Trevornoah for having me on as your first ever guest – and thanks to all of you guys out there for enjoying it! Good talks #WhatNow”

Meanwhile, the 39-year-old is also achieving great success when it comes to his comedy career.
After recently concluding his “Off the Road” comedy, he was also announced as a nominee for the category of Best Comedy Album for the 2024 GRAMMY Awards.
In a post of his own, he wrote:
“This journey called life never ceases to amaze and inspire me. I love stand-up comedy because I cherish nothing more than making people feel good or bringing a smile to someone’s face. “
“To be nominated for a Grammy is a blessing and honour I never expected and truly cherish with all my heart. Thank you to every single one of you who’s been in the audience for these shows, without you there would literally be no show. 🙏🏽🫶🏽”
