International comedian Loyiso Gola has left his social media followers in stitches following the emergence of a recent clip where he reveals he did not recognize South African rugby player Damian Willemse until after the Boks won the World Cup.
The 40-year-old recently made his guest appearance on the GenC Podcast where he spoke about his journey in the industry and some of the highlights so far.
In one segment Loyiso tells the hosts that he never had much of an interest in rugby and only followed one of the games of the World Cup with his nephew.
Little did he know that he has been interacting with a Springbok player much prior to this.
In the same segment he recalls going to one of his regular barbershops in Cape Town only to find the same gentleman there each time he goes to get his hair cut.
“If I go to the barber five times, three of those five times there’s always this dude sitting there and chilling,” he explains.
“He is friends with the barber, so they hang out, but we also chat, you know how it is. We talk, we talk.
“So, the last couple of times, he told me don’t go we just ordered a Gatsby.”
Loyiso added that he unfortunately declined the offer only to realize that the guy he was talking to was World Cup winning Springbok Damian Willemse.
