Gospel singer Sechaba Pali mourns late wife in TikTok Video

Two months on, and the pain is still very much the same for award-winning gospel singer Sechaba Pali.

In a recent video circulating on TikTok and Twitter, the popular personality is seen broken and in tears, as he mourns his late wife Nompilo Shabangu who sadly died in a motor vehicle accident in September this year.

In the circulating video the former member of the gospel group, Joyous Celebration, can be heard saying in SeSotho: “You took my wife; I left you alone. You took my father; I left you alone. You took my kids; I left you alone. You said to me I’m drunk… God is coming for you.”

The tragic incident occurred as the pair were making their way home from an event held in Welkom when Nompilo, who sat in the driver’s seat, suddenly lost control of the vehicle in an attempt to overtake a taxi.

Her failure to do so later came at the cost of losing her life as the car drifted off the road leaving her to succumb to her injuries after being tossed out of her vehicle while Sechaba had some minor bruises on his arm.

The devastated husband later told the news publication, TshisaLIVE that he had no idea how he was going to tell their children that their mother wouldn’t be coming home.

“I am heartbroken. Mpilo was an amazing singer. She was a great mother, and I am heartbroken. I lost the mother of my child,” he said.

Over the last few months, the singer also had serious mental challenges that affected his work. The singer previously told SABC that his downfall in the industry came shortly after signing with music producer Tshepo Nzimande. He said that the company borrowed him money which resulted in him constantly being in debt, and not being able to bury his family members.
