As singer Zahara lays in a hospital bed after reportedly experiencing liver complications, her two sisters, Lumka and Bandezwa Mkutukana, have been accused of allegedly taking her bank cards and going on a shopping spree.
Zahara (whose real name is Bulelwa Mkutukana) was rushed to hospital in November after celebrating her 36th birthday. She was then admitted to a medical ward, but when her condition worsened, she was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) section of a private Johannesburg hospital, ZiMoja reported.
After news of Zahara’s hospitalisation broke, her family released a statement regarding her health while asking for privacy and continued prayers.

ZiMoja now reports that a source revealed that Zahara’s two sisters, who were occupying the singer and her partner Mpho Xaba’s house, allegedly took her bank cards and used the money on themselves.
“The two sisters went shopping while their sister lay in a hospital bed fighting for her life. They went to Small Street, downtown Jozi, where they bought all the fake brands from Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Diesel and other brands,” said the source. “For them, shopping at those dingy shops made them feel like they were shopping in Dubai, Paris or New York. They got some cheap make-up too. Their bags were full of fake material.”
The above-mentioned publication previously reported that the Loliwe singer’s family does not have enough money to pay for more tests which would determine how far she can be assisted medically.
“Zahara is still awaiting more funds to do more tests before she can be put in the long queue for a liver transplant. But no one is coming to assist her, despite promises done privately by some of her music industry colleagues,” a source shared.
