The rape and attempted murder case against rapper and television personality Molemo Maarohanye, professionally known as Jub Jub, has been postponed to February of next year.
Jub Jub briefly appeared at the Johannesburg magistrate’s court on Monday where the matter was postponed to allow for further investigations, reports Sunday World.
As per reports, the TV host, who is out on R10,000 bail, faces 13 charges, including assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, kidnapping and rape, all of which he denies.
Jub Jub’s lawyer, Terrance Baloyi, spoke to the media outside of the court, stating, “We requested further particulars because something was not adding up. We’re a work in progress. We requested further particulars because some charges we could not understand or comprehend. For example, if somebody says ‘I’ve been raped,’ you say during the period of a year you haven’t said anything, so how do we plead with such a charge?”
Terrance also stated, “Justice delayed is justice denied, we’re being delayed but hopefully they have provided us with everything we need to proceed with the matter.”
According to Sunday World, media personality Amanda Du-Pont opened a case of rape and attempted murder against her ex a decade after the alleged violation. Amanda shared that Jub Jub allegedly raped her several times during their two-year relationship as well as an alleged attempt to end her life.
Another person who came forward with rape allegations against Jub Jub is former Metro FM presenter Masechaba Khumalo. She revealed that Jub Jub allegedly raped her when she was 16 years old.
