Best way to get quality sleep

by Sergio Miller

There is nothing better than getting some good quality sleep to have you feeling good and in optimal shape the next morning.

According to medical website – My Health Finder – an average adult needs at least between 7 and 8 hours of sleep each night.

Furthermore, the publication adds that it isn’t only about the number of hours that will have you feeling good but also the quality of your slumber.

Very Well Health explains that during sleep your body releases hormones. Some of these hormones keep your heart and blood vessels healthy. Meanwhile, in contrast to the lack of sleep deprives you of these hormones and could negatively affect you with high blood pressure, worse heart function, as well as over time heart disease.

In order to get a good quality sleep these are some things you need to implement into your lifestyle that will improve your night according to health publication Mayo Clinic:

1. Stick to a sleep schedule: Set aside no more than 8 hours for sleep, go to bed and get up at the same time every day.

2. Pay attention to what you eat and drink: Avoid heavy or large meals, nicotine, caffeine, and alcohol close to bedtime.

3. Create a restful environment: Keep your room cool, dark, and quiet. Avoid light-emitting screens before bedtime.

4. Limit daytime naps: Naps should be no more than an hour and avoid napping late in the day.

5. Include physical activity in your daily routine: Regular physical activity can promote better sleep.

6. Manage worries: Resolve your worries or concerns before bedtime. Stress management might help.
