Former paralympic champion Oscar Pistorius is set for release from prison today, after being granted parole in November 2023 for murdering his former girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on 14th of February 2013.
The blade runner who had endorsement deals from international brands such as Nike, Oakley sunglass, Thierry Mugler fragrance and many others shocked the entire world when news broke that he had shot and killed the Gqeberha born model.
Oscar was sentenced to 13 years and spent eight of those years behind bars.
He is released under the general conditions of parole, which include informing his parole officer of his movements if planning a holiday, and is not allowed to engaged in interviews with the media.

One user noted other well-known figures who were convicted of murderer but later released on parole asking for Oscar to be given a chance to live again.

While the media camped outside Atteridgeville Correctional Centre hoping to see Oscar’s exit, senior journalist Chriselda Lewis shared that the paralympic champion was at the comfort of his home.
