Showmax viewers and subscribers are quite excited to tune and binge on these new productions that are set to debut in 2024. Taking to X – formerly known as Twitter – to announce Red Ink as one of the series that viewers can anticipate is Phil Mphela, a TV host and entertainment commentator.
Phil shared that the show will be an adaptation of the gripping thriller novel by Angela Makholwa, Red Ink.
The series will be produced by Bomb Productions, a South African production company that has produced some of our finest and Africa’s renowned local productions such as Yizo Yizo, Zone14, Isibaya, The Road, Isithembiso, House of Zwide and Shaka iLembe.

According to Pan Macmillan – a South African book publisher – the gritty and shocking novel revolves around a “ young, beautiful and ambitious public relations consultant and ex-journalist who receives an unexpected call from a convicted serial killer.”
The novel is “Set in Johannesburg, it has a distinctly local flavour and brings the city to life through.” The novel takes readers through this journey and “all its contrasts and contradictions,” as her life takes a dramatic turn.
Making a return to our screens and is no stranger to Showmax local series is none other than Bonko Khoza. This young talent brings his outstanding craft as one of the cast members to star on Red Ink.
