Whoever said warm and hearty meals cannot be enjoyed during the summer had no idea what they were talking about. While January might be a tough time financially, there is quite a lot that can be done with the bit that we do have in our fridge and cupboards.
This simple recipe is a delicious, hearty meal that will have you having more than one serving and experiencing the deliciousness of chicken even though you may be tired of it.
Elevate your ordinary chicken into this buttery and creamy recipe without having to worry about hurting your pocket. Achieve this mouthwatering recipe by following these spices:
- 1 teaspoon of garlic.
- 1 teaspoon of cumin.
- 1 teaspoon of ginger.
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon.
- Half teaspoon of turmeric.
- 2 teaspoons of chilli flakes.
- 3 teaspoons of garam masala.
- 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
Follow these steps:
- Cut your boneless chicken breasts into chunky slices and add them to a bowl.
- Add all spices, along with two 2/3 spoonfuls of plain yoghurt.
- Mix well, and allow your meat to marinate in the refrigerator for a few hours before cooking it.
- In a heated pan, add a generous amount of butter and add your marinated chicken. Allow the meat to cook and place it in a separate bowl.
- In the same pan, add your 1 chopped onion, add garlic, and allow to fry.
- Once the above-mentioned have cooked, add a quarter cup of tomato sauce and cream.
- Add the same spices you used earlier to marinate the chicken.
- Allow the mixture to cool, then pour it into a blender and blend.
- Pour back into your pot, add the cooked chicken, and allow to heat for a few minutes until the flavours blend smoothly.

To make your fresh roti, be sure to mix:
In a bowl add 1 cup of self raising flour, a pinch of salt and 1/2 cup of hot water. Melt two scoops of butter and add to the mixture. Knead the dough and begin to cut into small sections. Roll the sections until flat and fry in hot pan with melted butter. Fry each side until they develop golden brown patches.
