Showing us the true definition of not despising small beginnings is a TikTok user who goes by the handle Maka_Zazi who took to the streets of TikTok to share the beautiful interior of her home.
While living in a shack is a reality for many South Africans, it has become quite a common sight to see many locals turn their shacks into their dream homes. Social media platforms have been booming with users who have shared their minimalistic and yet elegant interiors that they have achieved.
With the extensive cost of living that we find ourselves in, it comes as no surprise that many cannot afford the cost of renting or purchasing apartments.
However, many South Africans have pushed through and showed many that the above-mentioned factor will not in any way inhibit them from obtaining their luxurious kitchens and high-end branded items that they aspire to own. Instead, they are taking the initiative to work with what they have and elevate that much into the home spaces of their dreams.
The TikTok user posted a video of her home and captioned it:
“When I met my partner back in 2018 he was renting, in 2020 we decided to get space and put ihoki [shack] and be rent free. It’s baby steps but we are definitely getting there.”
