The 11th edition of South Africa’s annual comedy show the Savannah Newcomers Showcase is just a few days away, and this year’s host is ready to entertain those attending with his hilarious sense of humour.
The Savannah Newcomers Showcase is a platform created to give South African comics from all over the country an opportunity to shine.
Each participant will have five minutes on stage to show us what they’ve got, in the hope of being a finalist in the Savanna Newcomer Award category.
Those that will put their skills on display include Mzonke Maloney, Wesley Paulse, Emile Alexander, Obakeng Moroe, Zachary Esau, Chuma Bentele, Céline Tshika, Molokela Makola, Sipho Luther, Thula Sithole, Kaashif Stellenboom, Nhlanhla Biokgantsho Shabangu, Khabane Moloi, Lerato Sokhulu, Nolwazi Nkwandla, Callum Hitchcock, Sarah Abraham, Mick Pillay, Vincent Joseph, and Mr Chase.

The host of the show is none other than the lively Robbie Collins. Robbie who is an experienced comedian, and winner of last year’s Comedian of the Year award will not only be there to keep the audience entertained but also provide comics with sound advice during the showcase.
Speaking to local news broadcaster Eyewitness News he said:
“I’m thrilled to be hosting this year’s showcase because there is so much amazing new talent emerging in the local comedy scene,” Collins said. “It’s going to be a blast, so get ready to laugh until you cry as we highlight the best new comedic talent!”
The event will be held on Sunday, 21 January at Theatre on the Square in Sandton.
