Time is ticking for The Real Housewives of Durban star Nonku Williams who is facing legal action from her ex-boyfriend Dumisani Ndlazi, commonly known as Rough Diamond (RD). Nonku has until 8 March to present a public apology to Rough Diamond after she was accused of uttering defamatory statements about him.
Previously speaking to ZiMoja, Nonku alleged that her ex had scammed her and stole material from her business site worth R300,000. “I was in love. I mixed my business with pleasure, and I regret it but I also learned my lesson,” said Nonku.
Rough Diamond told the publication, “I still maintain my innocence. I never scammed Nonku and she knows. No case was opened. I have never even taken money from her. I gave her money, I paid for everything and I supported her business.”
Backing up his claims, Rough Diamond shared on his social media a letter of demand addressed to Nonku from his lawyer which shared minor details of parts of their relationship.
“I THINK IT’S TIME FOR PEOPLE TO KNOW THE TRUTH. I’ve been quiet for too long typing to be mature but she’s been pushing me,” Rough Diamond captioned his post.
According to the letter, the former couple met in October 2022 through a friend when Nonku was allegedly experiencing financial difficulties in her business. Nonku then requested assistance from Rough Diamond and his business partner. The couple then broke up.
“However, it is our instruction that during or about 24 January 2024, you published a statement containing scathing, untruthful, unlawful and defamatory statement[s],” read the letter. “It is our instructions that these allegations levelled against our client were made to damage the good name of our client in both his personal and professional capacity.”
Rough Diamond’s legal representation further demanded that Nonku immediately retract and remove social media posts on all social media platforms that contained the above-described statements.
