Former professional footballer Pitso Mosimane is expected to receive a total of R22 million in his bank account after winning a case against his former Saudi Arabian team Al Ahli Jeddah.
Pitso, who was appointed on 24 September 2022, had allegedly not received his monthly salary from his employers for five months and had his contract terminated. It is also alleged that Pitso accused the team of breaching the terms of their agreement as the former Mamelodi Sundowns coach was said to return after taking the team to new heights. This reportedly led him to take Al Ahli Jeddah to the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), which ruled in his favour.
As per iDiski Times, a statement from FIFA read the following:
“In his [Mosimane’s] claim, the claimant argued that the respondent [Ahli] failed to pay various salaries, far more than two months, despite being put in default and granted 15 days to remedy the default before unilaterally terminating the contract. Furthermore, the claimant argued that several bonus payments in the amount of $246,000 (R4.75 million) net had not been remitted.”

Additionally, iDiski Times reports that the Saudi team is to pay Pitso R159,000 net as outstanding remuneration, R65,000 as outstanding remuneration, and R15.2 million net as compensation for breach of contract without just cause plus 5% interest.
The payment amounts to more than R22 million in Pitso’s pocket.
